Clinic Director, Chartered Physiotherapist & Therapeutic Yoga Instructor
It was a big leap of faith to set up our own practice. However, local people called for a readily available physiotherapy and health service that actually treated the cause of their pain. They wanted to feel better sooner rather than later and Kath and I rose to the challenge.
Hello, I’m Louise Dodds. I set up Bradley Stoke Physio in 2003 with fellow Director Kath Stephenson.

Member of Physio First and AACP (Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists)
The therapies I offer and my special interests: As well as being an experienced Chartered Physiotherapist, I treat many painful conditions with acupuncture as well as having an interest in treating headaches and jaw pain. I also incorporate therapeutic yoga into many of the treatment programmes I prescribe for patients.
Why I do what I do: I sincerely believe that it’s quality, hands on, treatment that really works for people, and that everyone should have access to that so they can remain active and fully enjoy their lives. It’s important to me that clients are valued and the time, attention and treatment they receive are driven by their needs and objectives. It’s a passion that Kath and I instill in all of our team to the advantage of our clients.
It is also a huge privilege for me to help people get better so they can do more of what they love. I was honoured to work with the British Gymnastic Association as part of their team during the 2012 Olympic games and to see many of those gymnasts attend the Commonwealth games. It is an equal honour to help maximise people’s everyday movement so they can get out and see more of their friends and family, live more independently or get back to their favourite activity.
Why book an appointment with me: I’ve learnt that offering physiotherapy is about more than being a Physiotherapist!
I have learnt the value in how to listen to my clients and truly understand what they need and want from their treatment. It’s a big debt I owe to the people with learning disabilities with whom I once worked and who taught me how important communication is.
Having practiced Yoga for 20 years, my clients benefit hugely from the fact that I live out, as well as study, my understanding of how the body moves and responds to treatment. You’ll see the proof in the pudding too when you see me hobbling after my next horse ride or swim, or I’m feeling the after effects of pushing myself that little bit further!
