Hello, I'm Louisa Haswell. I am a chartered physiotherapist with 20 years of experience of working with people with neurological conditions.
QUALIFICATIONS: BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy
Member of ACPIN (Association of Chartered Physiotherapists In Neurology) and ACPIVR ((Association of Chartered Physiotherapists Interested in Vestibular Rehabilitation)
Having worked in the UK, Canada and the United States bring a wide knowledge of different models of healthcare to my practice. I have been working with the Bradley Stoke team for the last 18 months.
The therapies I offer and my special interests: I knew before qualifying as a Physiotherapist that I wanted to work with clients with neurological conditions and this has been my main focus over the last 20 years. Conditions that I regularly treat are Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease, CVA, MND and incomplete spinal cord lesions. I provide hands on therapy to help improve activity and guide exercise programmes to ensure you maintain your increased function. More recently I have been working with those with neurological problems at more complex end of the spectrum.
In the last 8 years I have developed a keen interest in treating people with problems that cause dizziness such as vertigo, poor balance or the after effects of inner ear infections. I really enjoy this aspect of my work.
Why I do what I do: I enjoy making a real difference to the lives of those who are living with neurological dysfunction, optimising their physical capabilities and enabling them to live life to the full. As a physiotherapist I am unique in my capacity to do this.
As for working with my dizzy clientele, I love the different pace and that I can make such a difference within a very short time.
Why book an appointment with me: I believe that to treat and support you effectively, it is you as a person that I work with, not your condition or symptoms. It's important to me that my focus is on you so I take an holistic approach to helping you to realise what you want out of your time with me.
